Can I come in? - What are Open Office Hours?

If you follow us on socials (if not why not!?) or have taken a little look around our website you might have seen us banging on about our Open Office Hours! But we want to dive a little deeper into what these actually are and how they can help YOU!

So what are they?

Open office hours are a chance for anyone (yes we mean anyone) to sign up to a 30min zoom slot (100% free of charge) to meet with one of our team to talk about whatever is most helpful for you. Some examples of things that you might want to talk about could be:

• Advice on how to approach a question on a funding bid

• Advice on how to format your CV for an upcoming application

• A second pair of eyes on a budget for your show/project

• How to shape an invitation to a reading or industry sharing

• Thoughts on an idea for a new play

• Help shaping a cover letter for a job application

• Talking through where you want to take your project next
  

• Tips for building a tour pack for your next show

• How to make sure you're saving enough for tax in your monthly budgeting

• Advice on where to look for new opportunities

• Someone to listen and bounce ideas off of for your next project

• Space to talk about a problem you're having on your current project

• Space to chat about being a freelancer

• Some jargon explained that you've come across

This is by no means an exhaustive list but it might give you a sense of the types of things you can bring to us in these 30mins!

Do I have to pay?

No our open office hours are 100% free.

Why did you start these?

We've hit points in our projects, careers and creative lives in general where we just needed to ask someone a quick question to keep us moving, bolster our confidence or put us back on track but at times had no one to go to. We know how at times how it can feel like you're making it up as you go along or aren't sure which way to take a project next so we wanted to do something to create a safe space for artists to ask those questions and get the support they need.

We hope that these sessions will help give confidence to artists in their own ability, make them feel more connected to the industry and get more projects moving in new directions - big goals we know!

How do I sign up?

You can sign up via the opportunities page on our website, simply pick your slot, check out and we'll send you a zoom link to join nearer the time!
